It is the oldest castle in the Czech Paradise. It was founded in the 13th century by family of Markvartic, from whose branches the famous general Albrecht von Wallenstein came. Since the end of the 15th century the castle had fallen into disrepair for more than 200 years, before family of Wallenstein got into the restoration of the faded glory of the castle.
